Rishikesh is a holy city situated at the foothill of Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand. The literary meaning of Rishikesh is Lord Vishnu. It is also is a gateway to other religious places like Badrinath and Kedarnath. Surrounded by scenic natural beauty amidst are many historic known temples and places of religious sanctity. The city has plenty to offer to tourist for all ages ranging from pilgrimage to adventure and the ones seeking peace and tranquility in the natural environment

There are regular trains for Rishikesh and is well connected to many cities in India.

The nearest Airport to Rishikesh is Jollygrant in Dehradun. It is about 20 kilometers from Rishikesh. Taxi’s are available between Dehradun and Rishikesh. Jollygrant airport is well-connected to the Delhi airport.

For driving enthusiasts, it takes around 4 hours from Delhi . Rishikesh is well-connected with cities in the countries. Public and private bus services are available from Rishikesh to Pauri, Dehradun, Haridwar and Kotdwar.

Rishikesh is also an attraction for adventure sports as it offers river rafting, camping, trekking, cycling tours, bike tours, cliff jumping, bungee jumping and hiking which are popular amongst adventure enthusiasts of all ages. Tourists throng Rishikesh to enjoy these activities as it offers something for everyone.

The Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is approximately 30Kms from Rishikesh and is one of the most visited temples in the city. The temple surroundings offer a panoramic view of Manikoot and Vishnukoot hills.

Bharat Mandir is one of the most ancient and sacred temples of Lord Hrishikesh Narayan located in the heart of the Rishikesh city. A Hindu Saint Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya laid the foundation stone of the Temple. The statue is made of black stone carved out of single piece of Saligram. On the eve of Basant Panchami the statue of Hrishikesh is taken out for a holy dip in Ganga. There is a museum showcasing sculptures, pottery and decorated bricks found in the recent excavations.

Laxman Jhula is a 450 feet long iron bridge suspended on Holy River Ganga. It offers a scenic view of Himalyan foothills with river Ganges flowing beneath. There are many legends associated with it and one of them is “that Laxman the younger brother of Lord Rama crossed the jute made bridge at the same place on river Ganga and to honor him it was named “Laxman Jhula”.

Depart for Rishikesh early morning by coach/train. Breakfast served on the way. Reach Rishikesh and travel to campsite via raft, an extremely amazing and unique experience in its own. Hot Lunch would be served as soon as you would reach the campsite. Post lunch, activities of Tent Pitching and Tent set up, followed by allocation of tents/cottages. Dinner would be served around a Bonfire. Overnight at the campsite.

Early Breakfast followed by a small trek. Few activities such as Rock climbing, Rappelling and Zip-Line Crossing would be done along the trek. Lunch would be served at the campsite along with a briefing about White Water Rafting. After lunch, head for rafting; break in middle for Refreshments (Maggi and Hot Tea). Get off directly at camp. Dinner would be served around the bonfire. Overnight at the campsite.

Breakfast followed by a trek through the forest to see the Neer Gaddu waterfall, Garud Chatti and Phool Chatti waterfalls and head back for lunch. Visit to Ram Jhula and Parmarth Niketan (to be introduced to vedas), and see the evening aarti. Enjoy dinner at a nearby dhabba to have a taste local cuisine. Overnight at the campsite.

Breakfast followed by visit to Laxman Jhula. Head home by coach/train with lunch being served en-route.
